TO ALL LIFE MEMBERS
As you may be
aware, the Life Membership fee of the Society has been increased
to Rs. 5000/- w.e.f. January 2010. Due to exorbitant increase in
the cost of printing of the Indian Journal of Agricultural
Economics, postage and other overhead expenses, it was decided to
request all Life Members have remitted less than Rs. 5,000/- to
contribute a sum Rs. 2000/- by way of renewal. We hope that all
our Life Members would appreciate our position and remit the
renewal amount.
Kindly remit the amount by demand draft drawn in favour of Indian
Society of Agricultural Economics on any bank payable in Mumbai or
cheque payable at par. For outstation Cheques, please add Rs.
50.00 to cover bank collection charges.

ISAE FELLOWS
The
Indian Society of Agricultural Economics has instituted ISAE
Fellows for their life time contribution in the field of
agriculture and rural development in 2010. The honour of Fellow,
to be given annually, to an Indian scholar who has made
outstanding contribution in the field of agriculture and rural
development.
The award will consist of a
citation and the designation of Indian Society of Agricultural
Economics Fellow. The fellow selection committee will select the
Fellow. The maximum number of new fellows in any year would be not
more than three members selected from the nominations received by
the Fellow Selection Committee. The Fellows Recognition Ceremony
will be held as part of the Society’s Annual Conferences.
Any ISAE Past Conference President
may nominate any living member who has been a member of the
Society for minimum 10 years and who has been actively involved
with the Society and the age limit is 50 years and above. The
Indian Society of Agricultural Economics Fellow Selection
Committee is inviting nominations for the 2011 ISAE Fellow Awards.
The deadline for submission of nominations and the supporting
documentation is June 30, 2011. Nominations received beyond this
date will not be entertained. Besides any person who has been
subject to official inquiry for any irregularities is not eligible
for the Award.
Nominations of President(s) and
Conference President(s) (ex- and current) should not be made as
they are deemed to be Honorary Fellows.

Dr. S.R. Sen Prize Award for
the Best Book
on Agricultural Economics
and Rural
Development Published in
2005-2006,
2007-2008 and 2009-2010
The Indian
Society of Agricultural Economics has instituted in 1996, under
Dr. S.R. Sen Endowment Fund Prize Award Scheme, a biennial prize
award of Rs.15,000/- for the best book/monograph on Agricultural
Economics and Rural Development published by Indian authors under
45 years of age as on the date of publication of the book(s).
Books that have made significant original contribution to
theoretical and empirical studies in the field of agricultural
economics and rural development are considered for the award.
Edited books by authors are not considered for the Prize Award.
The selection of the best book for prize award is done by a
Screening Committee and the Jury constituted for the purpose.
Books published by
Indian authors during the calendar years 2005-2006, 2007-2008 and
2009-2010 would be considered for the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth
Biennial Prize Award, respectively. Members of the
Society and the authors of books are kindly requested to bring to
the notice of the Society books published during the years
2005-2006, 2007-2008 and 2009-2010, conforming to the eligibility
criteria specified above. The authors/publishers are requested to
send two copies of their books published in 2005-2006, 2007-2008
and 2009-2010 latest by 30th April 2011 for the consideration of
prize award to the Honorary Secretary, The Indian Society of

PROFESSOR RAMESH CHANDRA AGRAWAL
PRIZE ENDOWMENT AWARD
The Indian Society of
Agricultural Economics has instituted Professor Ramesh Chandra
Agrawal Award of Excellence for contribution to Agricultural
Economics in 2004. The award, to be given biennially, is given to
an Indian scholar who has made significant outstanding
contributions to theoretical or empirical studies in the field of
Agricultural Economics.
The award will consist of a citation and a cash prize of Rs.
25,000.
A three member jury of
eminent scholars will select the awardee. The third Prize Award
was given at the 70th Annual Conference of The Indian Society of
Agricultural Economics held at University of Jammu, Jammu on
November 29, 2010. Nominations are invited for the Fourth Prize
Award.
The Indian Society of
Agricultural Economics will administer the award.
Members of the Society
and scholars in the field may make nominations with a short resume
of the nominee’s work including a list of important publications.
